London based printmaker and illustrator Daniel Fletcher takes inspiration form the sunny and exotic, to form works that channel an interest in the way we read images. From his self-started printing studio Yucca Press Fletchers transfers his initial ideas with cut-outs to outline his image, making maquettes and playing with various compositions before he moves forward with printing. Defined by the flat, bold and simple prints Fletcher identifies the fundamental values of imagery; colour form and texture and investigates how our brains respond to visual stimulus through the abstract and ambiguous.
