Born in the artistic seaside town of St. Ives Cornwall, Danny Fox uses intensely thickly layered oil paints to build up his observations of everyday situations and people. Inspired by his travels across America, Thailand and Cuba, Fox paints with broad childlike expressions to create huge brightly coloured canvases which demand attention.

His paintings ooze character, his risk taking with colour alongside brave brush work highlights visual excitement and interest enticing the viewer into the painting. The buttery layered paint builds texture, reinforcing character and feeling to the paintings, in addition creating a sense of movement which describes a narrative with the subjects. The chaotic composition to Foxes work, alludes fun and playfulness creating a journey for the audience, in turn reinforcing the narrative structure within the paintings.

Now living in L.A. Fox is currently on exhibition at the V1 gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark, and at the Saatchi Gallery, London within the new year.
