The visual imagery associated with Rambo is of of a bloody masculine filled sweat box, so when its transformed into a series of 300 softly painted watercolours; its quite a contradiction. Over three weeks multi media based artist Beni Bischoff watched the 1985 film Rambo II on repeat, while sitting in front of the TV he painted the watercolours, which have come together in this book published by Nieves. Known for exploring images and text influenced through everyday culture and expressed across sculpture, painting, photography and drawing; the Switzerland based artist’s book is an thrilling and quite elegant depiction of the blood shed that feature’s in Rambo II.
